Blanes has a superb quality 2.5 mile long beach that has good water sport facilities available. It is an important sport and fishing port, and offers excellent quality sea produce in the local markets and restaurants. The botanical gardens are internationally famous, as is the firework competition which is held the last week in July. The resort has a comparable night life to Lloret de Mar which is just 4 miles away and is popular for sheap holidays in Spain.
