Location and Resort
The hotel is on a cliff and has panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel`s grounds are planted with flowers and mature palms and have direct access to the beach. The hotel operates a complimentary minibus service into the centre, 1 mile away, a few times a day. Funchal is a good mix of old and new with 16th century architecture sitting alongside the more modern developments. The marina and Lido are popular areas, as are the many gardens and markets. There are a wide variety of shops and boutiques and the restaurants have a good selection of Portuguese cuisine and Madeiran wine.
Swimming Pools
The attractive outdoor pool has a children's section linked to it and it looks out over the sea. There is a large sun terrace area with a snack bar beside it to cater for your every need throughout the day. The indoor pool forms part of the Spa area.
Eating and Drinking
The Rose Garden restaurant is the main restauarnt serving International cuisine. At ocean level the Blue Lagoon is a poolside restaurant with some outside seating for drinks and meals. Just outside the fine dining restaurant Il Gallo D'oro (mediterranean cuisine) is Valentino's the cocktail piano bar great for the pre-dinner drink. The Cliff bar and bistro is the main bar with live entertainment every night. Its also the place for afternoon tea.
