Palm Beach is also the site of one of the most important Hawksbill Turtle nesting sites in the Eastern Caribbean. With effect from December 1st 2006, the Barbados airport departure tax will increase to 55.00 Bajan dollars for persons of 12 years and over who have been in Barbados more than 24 hours.

Allamanda is about 4 minutes drive from the 9-hole Rockley hotel golf course, 10 minutes drive from the capital city of Bridgetown, and 20 minutes drive from the airport. The hotel is located on the main bus route and a taxi service is always available. Nearby, guests will find shops, bars, restaurants, hairdressers, supermarkets, banks and a post office. The hotel`s guests also enjoy reduced green fees and prefered tee times at the 18-hole Barbados Golf Club, a 15 minute drive away.

Eating and Drinking
The Allamanda Restaurant overlooks the pool and has ocean views. The menu is varied offering Bajan cuisine as well as traditional dishes and it is open between 7am and 11pm The Allamanda`s Beach Grill is situated directly on the beachfront and provides a varied snack and grill menu. Guests can also enjoy the various restaurants at the Amaryllis Beach Resort which include the 39 Steps Restaurant and Wine Bar, The Almond Tree Restaurant, the Turtle Nest Beach Bar, a coffee shop and cafe.

Please note that the boardwalk and beach directly in front of this hotel are currently closed and are estimated to re-open in August 2008.
