The Occidental Caribbean Village Hotel is on the islands northern coast, in the heart of the Playa Dorada complex, spread over 16 tropical acres and bordering the championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones. The property is 700 meters from Playa Doradas beaches and 5 miles from Puerto Plata. The hotel was renovated in December 2007. Location and Resort
The resort consists of 336 rooms in 45 two-story, pastel coloured villas. There is a casino and a golf course nearby. Days can be spent relaxing under parasols ready for the nightlife by the beach or cocktails at one of the many bars around the resort. The windsurfing on this area of coastline is the best on the island and the golf course that surrounds the property is regarded as one of the top 100 courses outside of the USA.
