Crete Holidays and Hotel Information
The largest of all the Greek islands, holidays in Crete offer something for all walks of life; from the sophisticated Venetian elegance of the western town of Chania, to the laid back charm of Aghios Nikolaos and from the simple village life of Gouves to the buzzing decadence of Malia by night.
As one of the southern most of the Greek islands, Crete holidays enjoy a wonderfully dry & sunny climate with the cooling winds of the Mediterranean making your holidays in Crete a sun kissed and relaxed affair. Both green as well as spectacularly rugged, Crete is famed for it's man made ancient monuments such as the home of the infamous Minotaur at Knossos as well as more natural wonders such a The Samaria Gorge in the west of the Island.

Beaches
Crete is blessed with a rugged landscape where is some parts of the island, cliffs plunge into the crystal waters of the Mediterranean. In the more remote regions and should you wish to choose a cheap rental car for your stay you can take advantage of some 'secret coves' and beaches.
For those less adventurous souls, the beaches of Hersonissos provide spotless sandy beaches with excellent access to cooling drinks and long lunches. Malia's beach is long and wide, and although busy, always a fun place to be. With water sports available on all but the quietest spots, there is a place for everyone.
Shopping
There are a multitude of shops and supermarkets in all resort areas of Crete. It's worth picking up some of the reproductions of classical Greek antiquities. Whilst these have a place in history, some of them show a cheeky sense of humour even several thousand years ago!
As with the rest of Greece, no Crete holidays would be complete without sniffing our their very best produce to bring home including locally produced cheeses fantastic wines and the purest olive oil.
Nightlife
A holiday in Crete, as with many of the larger Greek islands has a pace of life which ranges from 'dead slow' to 'full throttle'! For those of you who just love to party, then look no further than Malia, where the evening begins at 11.00 p.m. and ends with breakfast when the sun pops over the horizon. Here nightclubs & theme bars for all tastes vie noisily for your attention! The revelry only stops when the sun worshipping begins.
Crete holidays are perhaps more widely associated with a less frenetic pace. Most resort areas have a mixture of every type of night time pursuit. With an abundance of tavernas, restaurants,
local bars and pubs you will always find the place where you feel comfortable and enjoy the legendary Greek sense of fun and hospitality. Once you have eaten well and relaxed with a drink, why not take part in the Greek tradition of the evening 'Volta': a walk with your partner, family and friends, down the main street or harbour front, to walk off your evening excesses and do a bit of people watching.
