Location and Resort
The Grand Hotel Bristol is a neo-classical hotel close to the lake and the lively historic town of Stresa. The hotel has a high standard of service, a relaxed atmosphere, and the rooms are comfortable with polished wooden floors and marble bathrooms. Stresa is a lovely town and popular for holidays on Lake Maggiore, with beautiful villas and gardens, a good climate and a varied selection of shops, bars and cafes. There is a cable car that takes you up to Monte Mottarone, where from a height of over 4000 ft you can enjoy views of the Alps and other lakes. The Borromean Islands are a popular tourist attraction and can be reached by hydrofoil which also goes to other lakeside towns including Locarno in Switzerland.
Swimming Pools
There is an outdoor swimming pool set in a neatly hedged garden with a patio sun terrace. Alongside is a whirlpool and a separate children's pool. The indoor heated swimming pool continues the neo-classical theme with arches and columns and some interesting murals.
