The Cavelletto & Doge Hotel, one of the oldest in Italy, dates back to the 13th century when the doges of Venice would stop on their way to hunt boar on the Lido, the rooms tastefully decorated in Venetian style and equipped with all comforts. It now overlooks the Bacino Orseolo where gondolas are moored and is just a few steps from Piazza San Marco. This is the heart of the shopping district and all the most famous boutiques and restaurants are nearby.

Hotel Location
Rating and advising on hotels around the world is a tricky business as standards and facilities vary so widely not to mention issues such as décor style, service levels and location with particular relevance to gay amenities.
We don’t pretend that we have got this right but our Pink Triangles are our attempt to give a personal assessment to enable comparisons to be made between the various properties in an area which we feature. Couple this with price and our hotel descriptions and you should be able to make a reasonable assessment.
