Kos Holidays and Hotel Information
Kos is a small island with a great deal packed into it! Never being far from the sea, makes holidays to Kos the ideal island destination on which to hire a car or arrange a tour to visit it's multitude of sandy beaches.
Not only are holidays in Kos a magnet for those wishing to do nothing more than soak up the sun, Kos's own history and also it's proximity to other place of interest such as Kalymnos, Rhodes and Turkey, make holidays in Kos an ideal base for the more adventurous spirits wanting to explore not just the island's archaeological sites but also other cultures.
Kos, is a land of some paradoxes; whilst sunshine tourism forms a major part of the economy, it is worth bearing in mind its proud history and the part Kos played during the greatest days of the ancient Greek civilisation. It was here that Hippocrates, the grandfather of modern medicine, established a healing centre at Asklipion. The renovated ruins are still here to this day and live on as has Hippocrates legacy to all mankind.
What a holiday to Kos does best now though, is show us all how to have a good time. With excellent tavernas, restaurants serving international cuisine and more cafes and bars that you could ever possibly visit, holidays in Kos have never been better.

Beaches
Beaches throughout Kos are excellent and are generally sandy or of a very fine shingle.
Kardamena (which also boasts the liveliest nightlife) has a long sandy beach which is always popular, however, all resort areas have fine beaches.
Our recommendation is to explore the island and experience as much as holidays to Kos to offer!
Shopping
Kos town is the centre for most shopping. Local wooden and leather craft work can be found here. As with most large Greek towns though, it is the local shopping experience in the markets which provides the visitor with memories to take away. Here, honey, fruit and seafood as well as other fresh produce are the mainstay of life.
The old town close to the main square has some interesting boutiques, and the newer part of town contains many branded boutiques as well as excellent jewellery shops.
Nightlife
If you want your Kos holiday nightlife at 100 Mile per hour, then head for Kardamena. With nightclubs open all night, lively bars, fast food outlets it really is a town that never sleeps!
For a more sedate and sophisticated evening though, Kos Town and the harbour provide a lovely relaxed backdrop to accompany a fine meal and a bottle or two wine.
